I’m Still Here

Hi friends. It’s been a while since I’ve posted, both in audio and in writing.

For those of you who listened to my podcast about quitting social media, you’ll know that my presence online is severely limited right now. That was, until, I got drunk the other week and decided to log back into Instagram.* I received a few comments that said I was “back.”

I found it curious that online presence is so significant because, well, I never left. I was always here. Let’s not mistake digital absence as an absence altogether.

That being said, I haven’t been posting because life. That’s all. Life.

I started a new-ish job (same company, different role) which has meant my workload is completely different and, after spending an intense day sat at the laptop, I try to switch off the electronics. Logging off has never felt so good.

We’re moving house, too. Tomorrow, actually. I’m not feeling too stressed about it. Although, I did wake up at 4.15am this morning with my head buzzing and couldn’t get back to sleep. So, I may say I’m not stressed, but I’m clearly full of shit.

Also, covid. That’s done a number on us, hasn’t it? The main thing is how much it has effected our relationships with people. Over the past few days, I’ve been reflecting on how much we learn about ourselves and about life when we’re in relationship with others. It doesn’t even have to be a close relationship; just going about our day and reacting to the situations around us, with strangers we’ve never met, can unearth the most beautiful treasures. I miss that. We all do.

That being said, I’ve two new episode coming up which I’m excited to share with you. On that note, I’d be interested to know if you listen to podcasts or you’re more of a blog reader? I love a good pod but I feel they’re a bit like marmite; you love ’em or you hate ’em.

I hope you’re all keeping well. I’m still here, and so are you. We’re doing good.
