Lockdown Thoughts & Etsy Shop

Hello, friends!

I hope that you’re doing well in whatever corner of the world you inhabit. Truth be told, I’m slowly starting to long for freedom again. I’d really love to take a day trip somewhere else right now…

If you’ve been here a while, you know that I’ve struggled living in a city because my heart is a country cottage in the middle of nowhere and I wake up to birdsong, not car smog. I mean, I don’t hate being in the city…its just unless you’re willing to spend money every weekend, there’s really not much else to do.

Before Coronavirus, I’d actually got pretty savvy at finding new things to do here that we’re cost effective or free. I’d use sites like Eventbrite or check out the local theatre to find budget indie productions. I’d actually found some pretty cool stuff. I’d actually warmed up to the city with these secret things I’d found…They were like little easter eggs dotted all over waiting to be discovered.

Then coronavirus happened and now all I’m craving is open space and greenery and solitude. I know it sounds odd to say solitude but wherever I go to escape here, everyone else has the same idea, haha!

Anyone, I’m confused as to whether I want to take a day trip somewhere or just move somewhere else. No knee jerk decisions being made quite yet but I’m being open to whatever happens, and wherever my heart leads.

In amongst the day-to-day, I’ve opened an Etsy shop! If you like jewellery that isn’t subtle and tacky as fuck, check it out here

I was reminded this a craft by a dear friend and I used to play around with resin a few years ago. This reminder, coupled with a desire to have a pair of tortoiseshell earrings, and I’ve been hooked on creating the most glittery and colourful earrings you can hang on your lobes. It’s been one of my favourite lockdown activities so far so if you, or anyone you know, loves some loud jewellery…pay a visit!

Eurgh, I hope this didn’t come across as a plug for an Etsy shop because it’s really not intended that way! I just felt like popping in and having a brain dump of thoughts and feelings.

I really hope you’re all doing OK. It’s tough going some days and I’m sending all the love your way. Thanks for reading, always. I always see your likes, and your listens, and I appreciate you for being here.

What have you been up to during lockdown? And what are you most looking forward to when this is all over?

Lots of love to you…

Laura ❤
